At country level, the program is overseen by a technical ministry in charge of agricultural and food issues, which also leads the Country Consultative Committee (CCP) and ensures strategic governance in terms of coherence, efficiency, innovation and synergy. Key stakeholders (local authorities, local farmers’ and pastoralists’ organizations, women’s and youth organizations, service providers, SMEs and business networks, decentralized financial institutions) will drive the changes to be induced by Pro-ARIDES.
The “one program” approach has been adopted in order to have a single approach to targets and stakeholders through a proximity support mechanism set up down to village level. This operational mechanism is designed to ensure the effective and efficient integration and implementation of activities. Deconcentrated and decentralized technical services ensure capacity building and quality control of services delivered by local organizations and service providers.
