The first meeting of the Pro-ARIDES Country Advisory Committee was held on Thursday February 22, 2024 in the picturesque city of Ouagadougou, marking the beginning of a new era of collaboration and commitment to rural development. The Country Advisory Committee was formed with the vision of creating a space for inclusive dialogue where different national stakeholders can collaborate to solve the challenges and exploit the opportunities of the agricultural sector. Accordingly, the Burkinabe government issued Order N°2022/011/MARAH/CAB establishing the creation, composition, powers, organization and operation of the Country Consultative Committee (CCP). The CCP is a multidisciplinary body responsible for guiding the implementation of Pro-ARIDES activities, under the authority of the Ministry of Agriculture.
