Livestock farming in Niger is facing increasingly persistent difficulties in terms of pasture availability and the proliferation of avian, bovine and ovine diseases. This situation is one of the consequences of climate change, which has led to the degradation of ecosystems, with negative repercussions on the living conditions of rural populations. These households, whose livelihoods depend mainly on agriculture and livestock farming, have seen their incomes fall at an alarming rate, and face recurring situations of food insecurity.
